Tour Itinerary

  • 07:30 – Board Reef Experience boat at the Cairns Marina ‘A-Finger’ for check-in View map to Cairns Marlin Marina
  • 08:00 – Approximate departure & Safety Talk with snorkel briefing
  • 08:30 – Marine Biology presentation, followed by detailed scuba dive briefing for those participating
  • 09:30 – Arrive at our first spectacular reef site, snorkel & dive with thousands of vivid tropical fish, giant clams plus more
  • 10:30 – Glass Bottom Boat Tour (approximately 20 minute tour)
  • 12:30 – Lunch
  • 13:00 – Cruise to our second location to explore forests of coral, large sea fans & black coral trees in it’s shallow lagoons
  • 15:00 – Depart the Great Barrier Reef
  • 15:30 – Glass of wine, tropical fruits, cheese & biscuits
  • 16:30 – Arrive back in Cairns

Important Information for Scuba Diving

Your Safety Is Our First Priority

We have a passion to show you Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.  Please make sure you understand the scuba diving laws.

Queensland, Australia has some of the strictest scuba diving rules in the world.  It also has the safest scuba diving record.  We are regulated by the Queensland Government Code of Practice and comply with all rules including medical as is the law.

To avoid disappointment on your day of travel we strongly recommend that you complete our dive medical questionnaire prior to booking.  Some medical conditions, age and / or medications may prevent you from scuba diving.   It is always our mission to provide our passengers with the very best Great Barrier Reef experience.

Flying after Scuba Diving

For a single no-decompression scuba dive, you should not fly or go to altitude for at least 18 hours.  For multiple dives, you should not fly for 24 hours after your last dive. If Skydiving or Hot Air Ballooning you must wait 24 hours after your dive. We recommend waiting a minimum of 24 hours whenever possible

Food Tasting Tablelands Tour

Explore the Atherton Tablelands.   Enjoy local wine, spirits, beers, cheeses, Atherton red claw (cray fish), Kangaroo, Crocodile, Coffee, Chocolates, Nuts, and Tropical Fruits.

You will also have the opportunity to see the elusive Platypus in their natural habitat.

The Day Begins…

Day 2 of the Cairns Reef and Tropical Delights package starts now!   Your personal guide will pick you up from your Cairns hotel at approximately 8:00 am.  From there, head Southwest towards the Atherton Tablelands, nicknamed the “food bowl”.

This region has certainly earned its’ nickname!  Home to a wide variety of crops including coffee, sugar cane, mangoes, avocados, macadamia nuts, tea, citrus, and more.  Dairy farming is also a staple of the Atherton Tablelands.

Where are we going?

You will enjoy spectacular and diverse views of rolling hills and lush rainforest.  Stopping at 8 different locations throughout the Cairns’ Tablelands Food & Wine Tour.

Enjoy locally grown, native fruits

Sunset Ridge Farm

This private property is exclusively offered on this tour.  Enjoy breathtaking country views as you enjoy the native fruits grown at this family run business.  Your delicious breakfast will showcase Australia’s native Davidson Plum and Lemon Aspen.

Rainforest Bounty

Located on the outskirts of Malanda.  Enjoy local cheeses accompanied by artisan condiments made from the locally grown, native fruits.  Indulge in a cocktail or enjoy a glass of wine while you take in the beautiful views.

Time for lunch!

The Australian Platypus Park at Tarzali Lakes

See one of the world’s most mysterious creatures, the Platypus.  Lunch includes an array of handcrafted smoked products.  Enjoy crocodile, Yabby (cray fish), and Kangaroo alongside fresh salads.  Wash it all down with a “Tarzali Lakes” boutique beer or Dragon Fruit cider.

Gallo Dairyland

This is a fully operational dairy farm.  It produces a variety of locally made cheeses and handcrafted, Swiss-style chocolates.  Taste and purchase these delicious treats before meeting some of the friendly animals living at this property.

The Humpy

The best place to purchase freshly harvested local produce.  Purchase some goodies to enjoy for the rest of your stay and taste the seasonal produce.

It’s happy hour!

Mount Uncle Distillery

Named Australia’s distillery of the year for 2017.  Mount Uncle is North Queensland’s first and only distillery!  Explore the impressive property grounds and taste their award winning liqueurs and spirits.

Debrueys Boutique Tropical Winery

A beautiful mango orchard is home to Debruey’s. Here tropical wines, liqueurs, cream liqueurs and Ports are made.  Sip a selection of these while enjoying views of the lake and waterfall.

Jaques Coffee Plantation

Your day finishes with a delicious cup of locally made coffee.  Enjoy your cuppa alongside freshly made scones served with local jam and Mungalli cream.  This family coffee plantation is home to 85,000 Arabica coffee trees!

Time To Head Home…

With full bellies sit back, relax and let your friendly guide drive you home.  Gaze out the window at the rolling hills and stunning scenery.

Kuranda Rainforest Tour

Your third day of the Cairns Reef and Tropical Delights package will have you spending time in the Village in the Rainforest, Kuranda.   You will travel on the original Kuranda Scenic Railway.  One of the most spectacular railways in the world.  Make your way through the Baron Gorge National Park. Travel over bridges and through hand-made tunnels built by pioneers over 100 years ago.

Wander through the picturesque Village in the Rainforest.  Explore the local arts and crafts in its world famous markets.

Heading Home…

Glide quietly over the rainforest canopy of pristine World Heritage rainforest on the Skyrail cable car.

Stopping first at Barron Falls,  then again at Red Peak Station.  Here, you can explore the forest floor of the Skyrail’s rainforest boardwalk.  Meander through the topical undergrowth taking you past majestic trees, beautiful tree ferns and climbing wait a while palms.  Sit back and relax, heading home.  The perfect ending to the Cairns Reef and Tropical Delights package!


As at July 2020, Skyrail is currently not operating.  This tour itinerary has changed, and you will now be transferred from Kuranda at 3.00 pm by air-conditioned coach to your Cairns accommodation.
