Day 1 – Reef Experience

A trip to Cairns is not complete without a visit to the Great Barrier Reef!

Join us on board our high-speed Catamaran “Reef Experience” for an unforgettable day. You will visit 2 pristine Outer Great Barrier Reef locations and discover the breathtaking wonder of the Great Barrier Reef.

By the way, Reef Experience is Cairns’ only ALL inclusive Great Barrier Reef tour which also offers a FREE Scuba Dive and Glass-bottom boat tour.

Furthermore, we cater to all levels of swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving. Everyone will find the perfect way to experience the Great Barrier Reef!

Your day at the Great Barrier Reef

Tour Itinerary

  • 07:30 – Board Reef Experience boat at the Cairns Marina ‘A-Finger’ for check-in
  • 08:00 – Approximate departure & Safety Talk with snorkel briefing
  • 08:30 – Marine Biology presentation, followed by a detailed scuba dive briefing for those participating
  • 09:30 – Arrive at our first spectacular reef site, snorkel & dive with thousands of vivid tropical fish, giant clams plus more
  • 10:30 – Glass Bottom Boat Tour (approximately 20 minute tour)
  • 12:30 – Lunch
  • 13:00 – Cruise to our second location to explore forests of coral, large sea fans & black coral trees in its shallow lagoons
  • 15:00 – Depart the Great Barrier Reef
  • 15:30 – Glass of wine, tropical fruits, cheese & biscuits
  • 16:30 – Arrive back in Cairns

Boarding commences at 7:30 am for check-in, directly on the vessel ‘Reef Experience’

Arrive back to Cairns Marina at approximately 4:30pm

Important Information for Scuba Diving

Your Safety Is Our First Priority

We have a passion to show you Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.  Please make sure you understand the scuba diving laws.

Queensland, Australia has some of the strictest scuba diving rules in the world.  It also has the safest scuba diving record.  We are regulated by the Queensland Government Code of Practice and comply with all rules including medical as is the law.

To avoid disappointment on your day of travel we strongly recommend that you complete our dive medical questionnaire prior to booking.  Some medical conditions, age and / or medications may prevent you from scuba diving.   It is always our mission to provide our passengers with the very best Great Barrier Reef experience.

Flying after Scuba Diving

For a single no-decompression scuba dive, you should not fly or go to altitude for at least 18 hours.  For multiple dives, you should not fly for 24 hours after your last dive. If Skydiving or Hot Air Ballooning you must wait 24 hours after your dive. We recommend waiting a minimum of 24 hours whenever possible

Day 2 – Tully River Whitewater Rafting

Tully River is Australia’s most famous White Water Rafting full day adventure. An action-packed experience filled with fun, thrills, and spills on a day you will never forget.

Whitewater rafting on the Tully River is an extreme five-hour whitewater rafting adventure in a beautiful rainforest setting. Enjoy rafting on grade 3 and 4 rapids surrounded by the beauty of the rainforest.

  • 09:45 – Arrive at top of the Tully River for a safety demonstration and to be supplied with safety equipment
  • 10:00 – Start rafting & brave the first few rapids,
  • 12:15 –  Arrive at Ponytail Falls for  BBQ lunch
  • 12:45 – Start afternoon rafting
  • 15:00 – Time change into dry clothes
  • 15:45 –  Arrive at Rafters Cafe & Bar.
  • 17:00 – Return to Mission Beach accommodation
  • 18:30 – Return to Cairns accommodation (approx.)
  • 19:15 – Return to Northern Beaches accommodation

  • Secured footwear is mandatory – lace-up shoes or sandals that will get wet

Additional Information

  • Minimum age is13 years,
  • Under 18 year old must travel with a guardian or parent
  • Rafting is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant

Day 3 – Kuranda Train and Skyrail

Combining the Scenic Train journey with the world famous Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is the best way to experience Kuranda!

You will travel to the ‘village in the rainforest’ on the Kuranda Scenic Railway. Enjoy breathtaking views of Barron Falls along the way!

Once you reach Kuranda, enjoy a stroll through the village exploring different markets and wildlife parks.

Later, return to Cairns by Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Enjoy this extraordinary birds-eye-view of the rainforest as it glides silently only meters above the rainforest canopy.


As at July 2020, Skyrail is currently not operating.  This tour itinerary has changed, and you will now be transferred from Kuranda at 3.00 pm by air-conditioned coach to your Cairns accommodation.

Kuranda Itinerary

  • 7:00 – 7.30 am Approximate pickup from your Cairns Accommodation
  • 8:00 am   Arrive at Freshwater Station. Explore the Railway Museum and Pioneer Cottage while you wait to board
  • 8:30 am   All aboard! Kuranda Scenic Railway
  • 10:15 am  Arrive at Kuranda Railway Station, explore Kuranda, a village in the rainforest
  • 4:00 pm    Transfer to Kuranda Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Terminal for 4 PM boarding.
  •  5.15 pm   Your coach will be at Skyrail Terminal to transfer you to your Cairns City Accommodation.
