Join us on this three-day adventure which includes a Day on the Great Barrier Reef, another Rafting the mighty rapids of the Tully River and then a relaxing day in Kuranda the village in the Rainforest travelling on the Kuranda Scenic Train and Skyrail Cable Car

Day 1 – Reef Experience

Join us onboard our high-speed Catamaran “Reef Experience” for an unforgettable day visiting two pristine Outer Reef locations and discover the breathtaking wonder beneath the surface for yourself.

Reef Experience is Cairn’s only ALL inclusive Great Barrier Reef trip and offers a FREE Scuba Dive.

Catering for all levels in Swimming and Diving, everyone will find the perfect way to experience the Great Barrier Reef.

Experienced Swimmer or Snorkeler? Our crew will show you to the best patches of coral and can tell you where to find the marine marvels that call the reef their home.

Never Snorkeled before or cannot Swim? Or need some assistance in the water? Don’t worry, our friendly and professional Crew are always ready to jump in and assist everybody who needs help. They make sure you have fun, meet some friendly fish and enjoy the magic of the reef, and ensuring that you are comfortable with your equipment!  Buoyancy aids are available to everyone. These will help maintain your freedom of movement while comfortably allowing you to stay at the surface and observe the marine life beneath and are available for you on board.

Important Information

We have a passion to show you Australia’s Great Barrier Reef so please make sure you understand the scuba diving laws.

Queensland, Australia has some of the strictest scuba diving rules in the world but also the safest scuba diving record.   We are regulated by the Queensland Government Code of Practice and comply with all rules including medical as is the law.

To avoid disappointment on your day of travel we strongly recommend that all of our passengers complete our dive medical questionnaire prior to booking as some medical conditions, age and/or medications may prevent you from scuba diving.   It is always our mission to provide our passengers with the very best Great Barrier Reef experience.

Flying after Scuba Diving

For a single no decompression scuba dive, you should not fly or go to altitude for at least 18 hours after a scuba dive.  For multiple dives, you should not fly for 24 hours after your last dive. If Skydiving or Hot Air Ballooning you must wait 24 hours after your dive. We recommend waiting a minimum of 24 hours whenever possible

7:30 am Board Reef Experience for check-in at Marlin Jetty “A” Finger
Delicious BBQ breakfast of bacon and egg rolls and an assorted fruit platter. Vegetarian options available – please advise upon booking
8:00 am Departure. Safety briefing and snorkelling demonstration
Marine Biology Talk
9:30 am Arrive at your first Great Barrier Reef Location snorkelling, scuba diving and glass-bottom boat ride*
12:00 pm Lunch
12:45 pm Cruise to the afternoon reef location snorkelling, second scuba dives and relaxing
3:00 pm Depart the Great Barrier Reef for the Journey back to Cairns

4:30 pm Approximate return to Cairns Marina

 Day 2 – Tully River Whitewater Rafting

White Water Rafting down the Tully River is Australia’s most famous White Water Rafting full-day adventure.

An action-packed experience filled with fun, thrills, and spills on a day you will never forget.

Whitewater rafting on the Tully River is an extreme five-hour adventure in a beautiful rainforest setting. Enjoy rafting on grade 3 and 4 rapids surrounded by the beauty of the rainforest.

Tully River Itinerary

  • 06:10 – Pickups from Northern Beaches accommodation
  • 06:30 – Pickups from Cairns accommodation commence
  • 07:00 – Depart Cairns
  • 07:30 – Pickups from Mission Beach accommodation
  • 08:00 – Depart Mission Beach
  • 08:30 – Arrive at Rafters Cafe for morning tea and coffee
  • 09:00 – Depart Rafters Cafe & Bar
  • 09:45 – Arrive at the top of the Tully River for a safety demonstration and to be supplied with safety equipment
  • 10:00 – Start rafting & brave the first few rapids,
  • 12:15 –  Arrive at Ponytail Falls for  BBQ lunch
  • 12:45 – Start afternoon rafting
  • 15:00 – Time change into dry clothes
  • 15:45 –  Arrive at Rafters Cafe & Bar.
  • 17:00 – Return to Mission Beach accommodation
  • 18:30 – Return to Cairns accommodation (approx.)
  • 19:15 – Return to Northern Beaches accommodation

  • under 18 years must travel with a guardian or parent
  • Rafting is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant 

Day 3 – Kuranda Train and Skyrail

Kuranda Scenic Train from Cairns to Kuranda takes you on a step back in time to the day of our Pioneers. During your 90 minute journey, you will learn about the pioneering history of the tropical north that shaped the region of today. Climbing over 40 small bridges and through many dark tunnels while winding its way to the picturesque mountain retreat of the Kuranda Village.

Combining the Scenic Train journey with the world-famous Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is a great way to experience this World Heritage-listed tropical rainforest and Kuranda Village.

You will be in awe of the excellent views of the world listed rainforest, steep ravines and picturesque waterfalls within the Barron Gorge National Park.

The Kuranda Scenic Train gives visitors a fantastic view of the rainforest at ground level. Skyrail Rainforest Cableway provides an extraordinary birds-eye-view of the rainforest as it soars silently only meters above the rainforest canopy.

Return Bus Transfers are included only from Cairns City Accommodation. (Northern Beaches pick-ups are not available)

Kuranda Itinerary

  • 7:00 – 7.30 am Approximate pickup from your Cairns Accommodation
  • 8:00 am   Arrive at the Freshwater Station. Explore the Railway Museum and Pioneer Cottage while you wait to board
  • 8:30 am   All aboard! Kuranda Scenic Railway
  • 10:15 am  Arrive at Kuranda Railway Station, explore Kuranda, a village in the rainforest
  • 4:00 pm    Transfer to Kuranda Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Terminal for 4 PM boarding.
  •  5.15 pm    Your coach will be at Skyrail Terminal to transfer you to your Cairns City Accommodation.
