Close proximity to the coral reef
The boat is positioned to provide easy access to shallow coral lagoon areas ideal for snorkelling activities, so there’s no distance to travel to be amongst the amazing creatures that call this Marine Park their home!
Reef Experience has two snorkelling platform decks on level with the ocean, and easy access stairs that make getting into and out of the water hassle-free.
Marine Biology Guided Snorkel Tour
On the journey to the Great Barrier Reef, the onboard Marine Biologist gives an informative presentation for everyone who wishes to learn about the things you may encounter at the reef.
At the reef, you then have the option to go on an interactive snorkel tour with our knowledgeable Marine Biologist and learn about the things you see – as you see them!
The Marine Biology Snorkel Tour is an optional extra, (and is not the same as the snorkel tours given to people who require assistance in the water -which are free of charge).
Can anybody snorkel?
Yes! if you are new to snorkelling or are not confident in the water, a friendly and professional crew member will be your in-water guide, guaranteeing you a fun and safe way of seeing the Great Barrier Reef!
Please inform the crew if you would like any assistance and we will be more than happy to help.
What if I’m not a strong swimmer?
No problem! Reef Experience provides flotation devices and buoyancy aids for non-swimmers free of charge and if you’re not confident in the water, the crew will guide you around the reef.
A glass-bottom boat tour is also a great option for viewing life beneath the waves without even getting wet! (Glass bottom boat tours are weather permitting).
